Discipline spank love unconditionally

I know that the times she punished me, she did so out of love and concern and a desire for me to grow up as a responsible, well-mannered adult. I am a loving mother and mostly my children are very good. I firmly believe that most children instinctively know that their parents love them unconditionally, as long as they are treated as such. Not only does that make sense from the standpoint of it being the opposite of hate and hate is an emotion, therefore love must also be an emotion; but, it also makes sense when considering the role an emotion plays as a motive. When he acts like a monster, he's afraid he IS a monster. I wish more people would think outside the box and see that real love only exists with conditions. It helps them feel safe when we create safe boundaries.
